And Or Theory

On ‘Anthem’ by Ayn Rand.

To the forbidden

Places the scarred

Underground remember

The glow of copper wire strung along

Or kept up

In a glass box container

For the forbidden, toward the forbidden

The seniority of trees

Councils scholarly wild animals

Lit outside a ring

Fighting like ego and his own

The only only I—

far superior Forever

To we or to they

Forgetting the forevers

And soul mates

Warranting our souls

None are close enough

Nor far away

For commonality

We do not have any way to look or be
